French Coconut Bars

Ingredients:

 
  • 3/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 pkg. french vanilla cake mix
  • 1 egg
  • 2 1/2 cups quick-cooking rolled oats
  • 1 can coconut pecan frosting
  • 1 -120z pkg semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans

Directions

 

Heat oven to 350 degrees.  Grease a 15 in. by 10 in. by 1 in. jelly roll pan.

Place butter in a large mixing bowl.  Reserve 3 tablespoons cake mix.  Add remaining cake mix to butter and blend well.  Add egg; mix well. Stir in oats.

Press 2/3's of cake mixure in bottom of pan.  

Put frosting in microwave for 1 minute.  Add reserved 3 tablespoons of cake mix to frosting.  Mix well.

Drizzle half of frosting mixture over cake mixture in pan and spread evenly. Sprinkle with chocolate chips and pecans.  Drizzle remaining frosting. Crumble remaining cake mixture over frosting.

Bake 25 minutes until top is golden and edges are bubbly.  Cool.
