Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease and flour rectangular pan 13x9x2 inches.
Beat all ingredients except frosting in large bowl on low speed, scraping bowl constantly, until moistened. Beat on medium speed, scraping bowl occasionally, 2 minutes.
Pour batter into pan. Bake until top springs back when touched lightly in center, 25 to 30 minutes; cool. Frost cake with Browned Butter Frosting.
BROWN BUTTER FROSTING
- 1/3 cup butter
- 3 cups powdered sugar
- 11/2 teaspoons vanilla
- About 2 tablespoons milk
Heat butter in saucepan over medium heat until delicate brown, remove from heat. Stir in powdered sugar. Stir in vanilla and milk; beat until frosting is smooth and of spreading consistency.
