Basinger No-Bakes (Version 1)

Ingredients

 
  • 1/2 cup butter (I stick)
  • ˝ cup milk
  • 2 cups white sugar
  • 6 tablespoons cocoa

Directions

 

Melt butter in a large saucepan over low heat.  Add milk, sugar and cocoa.

Turn up heat to just below medium heat and bring the mixture to a boil. When mixture comes to a rolling boil, boil for 2 minutes.  

Remove from heat and add 5 cups of quick oatmeal.  Stir well and drop by teaspoon on waxed paper.  

Let cool, until they become firm enough to pick up.

No-Bakes have always been a family favorite!  The Basinger family specialty! “Back in the olden days” when my brother, my sister and I were in High School, we were known far and wide for our No-Bakes!
